A common thread that has transcended several generations, back to 1920 when Marco Trabucchi, grandfather of Giuseppe, acquired the Estate. Instilled in the culture of agricultural housekeeping, the family understood with great foresight that economic progress should not be in conflict with the respect for nature and those aspects of the environment that give it its identity.
Overlooking the town of Illasi, Trabucchi d’Illasi boasts 22 hectares of vineyards and 6 hectares of olive groves extending up to the top of the hill, at altitudes ranging from 140 to 300 meters above sea level. As part of Valpolicella, the oldest wine-producing region of Italy, Illasi’s terroir is particularly adept for producing dry wines from partially dried grapes, and confers unique characteristics with aromas that are more fragrant and floral than wines produced in the nearby Valpolicella Classico area.
