Terre de’ Trinci is unquestionably one of the most influential wineries in the renaissance of Umbrian winemaking. Their story begins in 1992, although the cellar actually dates back to 1950 when wine was made as a way to preserve its enormous historical and cultural heritage. Taking on the illustrious Trinci family name firmly planted the winery in local history,
President Lodovico Mattoni has sought to maintain a strong, intact link with the territory and its native varietal, the Sagrantino. In the early 1960s, he became the first producer to make and bottle the “dry” version of this complex and elegant wine, and has been dedicated to raising awareness and promoting a wine inextricably entwined with its terroir.
Over the years, the estate has invested heavily in modern equipment and a new cellar, continuously evolving and single-mindedly pursuing an objective of greatness. They were the first in the area to receive the certification UNI EN ISO 9002. But it is in the more than 300 hectares of vineyards that one finds the winery’s real wealth. Working closely with the invaluable consultancy of an agronomist to obtain grapes of outstanding quality, Terre de’ Trinci vows to achieve the perfect harmony between tradition and innovation, all the while producing wines that express the very heart of Umbria..
