A great love for the earth and the hard work of four generations gave birth to Ca’ del Baio and helped it grow and realize the fruits of its success. Today, Giulio Grasso, along with his wife Luciana and their three daughters, is at the helm of the 22 hectare Treiso based winery, with holdings on some of the best sites throughout Barbaresco, including a plot in the prestigious Asili vineyard.
For the Grasso family, wine is made in the vineyards where the typicity of the grape varietal is preserved, old clones are nurtured, and work is carried out with passion and experience. Their winemaking philosophy has successfully integrated new technology with traditional winemaking methods that have been safeguarded since the 1880s, producing wines that respect the Langhe region’s unique terroir characteristics.
The Ca’ del Baio estate favors a soft, elegant, fruit-driven style of Barbaresco made from Nebbiolo vines that range between 15 and 50 years old.
