Frerejean Frères

Champagne Frerejean Frères was founded in 2005 by three brothers, Rodolphe, Richard, and Guillaume, who hailed from one of Champagne’s most famous and historic houses. Located in the village of Avize, the grower/producer estate works with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from only Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages, owning 5.5 hectares in Avize, Grauves, Chouilly, Cramant and Oger, with a future purchase of one hectare in Mesnil-sur-Oger.

In their quest for quality, the brothers speak of total transparency of their beloved terroirs from the best of the Côte de Blancs. Their vision is to make “wine” before Champagne: At least six years aging on the lees, far beyond the minimum aging requirement; first fermentation in enamel tank, an old neutral material traditionally used to avoid metallic interaction with stainless; low dosage so as not to mask the details in the wine. They seek harmony between maturity and freshness, roundness and tension, vivacity and complexity. Chef de Cave Didier Pierson is a fifth-generation winemaker born in Avize, bringing experience and a great respect for their land.

Frèrejean Frères balances modern-day craftsmanship with traditional and artisanal methods with a goal of producing unique wines of great character and finesse.
